Offered is a scarce original 1965 edition of Second Course of One Year in Yoga Asanas by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, published in Los Angeles by the Spiritual Regeneration Movement.
This slender, illustrated instructional book presents Maharishi’s advanced course of yoga postures and breathing exercises, including Fish Pose, Bow Pose, Peacock Pose and Sukha Pranayama. It was intended as the continuation of his earlier Six-Month Course in Yoga Asanas and represents one of his earliest American publications.
BEATLES CONNECTION:
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi later became internationally famous as the spiritual teacher of the Beatles. The group began studying Transcendental Meditation with him in 1967 and traveled to his ashram in Rishikesh, India, in 1968. This book predates their celebrated association by more than two years, making it a fascinating pre-Beatles artifact from the formative years of Maharishi’s movement.
Near Fine vintage condition. The binding remains tight and secure, and the book has been exceptionally well preserved. The only notable flaw is the first name “Simon,” written neatly in the upper-right corner of the title page. Please examine the photographs for the exact condition.
