You areofferding on a garage kept 1965 Ford Mustang 289 4 speed coupe. I have ownedthe car for over 12 years. During this time, I have been restoring it. The carnow is mechanical sound and structurally solid. It runs incredible. (See video) The only thing left is for thecar to be painted. I started painting it myself years ago but never finished.As you will see in the pictures, it currently sits with 3 shades of burgundy. Thefenders are the original color, the doors and hood are what I painted (62Mercury), and the quarter panels are a shade that was there when I purchasedthe vehicle years ago.
I willlist everything that I did with this car by section:
Motor: The motor is the original 289 Acode with the 54.5 cc heads. It was completely rebuilt by aprofessional engine machine shop in 2022. It was bored .30 over and has a 10:1 compression. There are 1233 miles on the new motor. There were 167,500 on the original odometer. Theonly other original item on the motor is the crank which was refurbished.Everything else is new. KB pistons, larger valves, roller tip rockers, compcams 280 cam, balancer, water pump, Mallory ignition, Edelbrock performer RPMmanifold, Holley 650 double pumper carb, MSD box, 100 amp alternator, performancefuel pump, 3 core radiator and electric fan are some of the examples.
Reardifferential: Ford3.50 Traction Lock gears (Posi)
Tires/Wheels: 215x60x15 front, 235x60x15 rear.15-inch steel black wheels.
Exhaust:Full length Dougheaders connecting to a 2 ¼ aluminized dual exhaust pipes with Magnaflowmufflers and Borla exhaust tips.
Brakes: Front disc brakes, Rear drum-allnew parts. Dual master brake cylinder.
Exterior: Original fenders are in goodshape, new hood, new full doors (not door skins), New sway bars, idler arm, controlarms, manual steering center link, shocks, leaf springs, gas tank. Trunk lid isgood.
Bodywork: New rightfront frame rail, new front floor pans with floor supports, new left rear framerail, new trunk floors with drop-offs and the crossmember support piece. (See pics)
Interior:Color black. New dash pad, carpeting, steeringwheel, trunk divider board. Has modern dash with modern analog gauges (I dohave original camera case dash that will go with the car). New door panels,handles and sill plates. Seats are in good shape. One tear in right seat. (see pic) Back seatis original. No tears at all. Headliner is in good shape also. DynamatXtreme sound deadening throughout interiorand trunk area. The heater housing is installed; I just don’t have the hoseshooked up to it. I don’t need it and don’t like the extra clutter inengine compartment.
