Offered here is a 1919-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, one of the tougher early San Francisco issues in the series and a considerably scarcer date than the common later Walking Liberty halves.
This example has an attractive, honest circulated appearance with natural silver-gray surfaces and darker toning in the protected areas. Liberty remains well outlined with solid remaining detail through the gown, branches, and lettering, while the reverse retains good definition in the eagle’s wings, tail feathers, and surrounding devices. The date and S mintmark are both clear and easy to see.
The 1919-S is a desirable better date in the Walking Liberty Half Dollar series and becomes significantly more expensive in higher circulated grades, making this a nice affordable example for a circulated date-and-mint collection.
