Original 1905 mechanical novelty advertising postcard copyrighted by F. S. Backus, featuring a striking skull with movable eyes and the caption “We’ve been looking all around for you.”
This example was produced as advertising for A. L. Swanson Electrical Supplies of Evansville, Indiana. The card incorporates a layered mechanical construction allowing the eyes to move, making it an unusual surviving piece of early 20th-century novelty printing as well as Evansville commercial ephemera.
