\"Presented to Philip G. Soney by his friends of the New Jersey Bar, who, after contributing to his fortune for years and building him a new residence, find that they have a little left over — May 24, 1905\"
A wonderfully witty presentation piece from members of the New Jersey Bar to one of their colleagues — the kind of dryly humorous inscription that makes period silver come alive. The 1904 manufacture date and 1905 presentation date align perfectly.
Sold as found from a private collection. A genuinely collectible piece of American silver and New Jersey legal history.
