This is a string-bound portfolio of photographs of Costa Rica from 1904. The photographshave a beautiful sepia tone and lots of detail.
There are 27 photographs plus the pictorial cover.Each print is mounted onto thick textured gray paper by all four corners. The page measures11x9 inches (28 x23 cm). The full-page photos measure approximately8 x5.5 inches (20 x 13 cm). Although the cover is a bit frayed and damaged, most of the pages are in good condition. The last page has a small fold in the bottom paper margin.
Produced by the Albertype Company as a set of mechanical photogravure prints. There are a few early automobiles in the pictures.
