Offered here is an original 1896 S.F. Myers & Co. Illustrated Annual Catalogue No. 40 and Price List, published by the well-known New York manufacturing and wholesale jeweler S.F. Myers & Co., with offices at 48 & 50 Maiden Lane and 33 & 35 Liberty Street.

This is the original 1896 Second Edition, not a modern reproduction or facsimile. A publisher's notice inside specifically identifies it as the second edition of the firm's 1896 catalogue and states that it contains the same material as the first edition, but was printed on different paper.

This is an exceptionally substantial 816-page late-19th-century wholesale trade catalogue, profusely illustrated throughout.

Condition: The binding is remarkably strong and secure considering the catalogue's age. The original blue covers show substantial wear, staining, surface loss, abrasions, worn edges/corners and other age-related damage. Interior pages show expected toning, staining and scattered edge wear, with heavier staining visible on some preliminary and final pages. There are occasional small tears/chips. Most of the illustrated merchandise pages remain clean, crisp and highly readable. Page 816 is present. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.

A scarce surviving piece of Victorian-era commercial history and an outstanding reference for collectors of antique jewelry, pocket watches, horology, trade catalogs, Victorian advertising, engraving, typography and American retail history.
