Original handwritten letter dated July 29, 1875, from Geo. Hancock, solicitor at 8A New Inn, London, addressed to the firm of Rankin & Ford. The letter concerns a prior inquiry regarding an advance to Mr. Scott, a client of Hancock’s. Hancock informs the recipients that the matter has not been proceeded with and affirms that there is no claim on Mr. Scott’s property. A fine example of 19th-century legal correspondence on printed letterhead. Suitable for collectors of antique legal documents or Victorian-era ephemera.
