1874 YJ Peru 1 Sol, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by PCGS as Almost Uncirculated details. Someone tried to clean this coin long ago; but otherwise, this is a lightly-circulated and now re-toned large silver coin of the Republic of Peru. Its toning is a mix of oranges, reds, and blues emerging from dark silver overtones. Many nations found commercial or fiscal advantages with a large silver coin, and Peru continued thelegacy of the Spanish 8 Reales, so heavily used in the early United States, until it converted its denominations to the Sol and Centavo in the 1860s.
