Published in New York by Charles Scribner, 377 & 379 Broadway, in 1857.
An attractive mid-19th-century religious volume in a decorative leather binding with extensive gilt ornamentation. The spine features raised bands, gilt floral decoration, and the title “Public Prayer.” Both boards are bordered and decorated in gilt.
The contents include Presbyterian forms of worship and prayer, including morning worship, baptism and other religious services and observances.
Condition: Antique condition with age and use. The leather binding shows wear. Gilt decoration remains attractive. Interior pages show age toning, foxing and spotting. There is substantial old water staining/damp staining affecting the title page and numerous interior pages, particularly along the lower portions of the pages. Please review all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
