This a signed copy of the first edition of Jean M. Auel\'s 1980 bestseller, \"The Clan of the Cave Bear,\" (COTCB) a book about the intersection of the Neanderthals and the Cro-Magnon people. This novel was made into a 1986 film starring Daryl Hannah; it flopped. COTCB was Auel\'s first entry into her six-book \"Earth\'s Children\" series which took 30 years to complete; the final novel was released in 2010. This copy of COTCB is a rare, signed edition by Jean Auel of the original printing.Good/acceptable copy of a signed first edition. I am leaning more toward as good because, despite small imperfections, this cover is much more passable than others. Some person thought it would be fine to write phone numbers on the inside cover - of a signed copy. The cover has some minor chipping on the bottom spine panel and a small, small tear on the bottom cover. The interior of the dust jacket shows brown foxing. Despite this, it is one of the better conditions for this book I have come across. Many covers for first editions of this book are abysmal; they have many more wrinkles, tears, holes, and spine damage.The book and text block itself are also in good condition. Besides the writing on the inside cover, there is no underlining, no tears, no soiling to the text block. Book without cover shows bumping/dents on bottom edge. Please refer to all photos and ASK QUESTIONSThis book comes in a Mylar jacket which does manage to somewhat obscure some of the dust jacket\'s issues but be assured they are there.
