All subsequent releases of this book contain a \"Black Wing\" marking. Approximately 390 red wing copies were printed in 1945, then the aditional 250 black wing copies were printed and distributed by Robert F Kennedy, Sr. in 1965.The book is a rare first edition, first issue of \"As We Remember Joe\" by John F. Kennedy, privately published in 1945. This hardcover book, printed by the University Press, includes a compilation of essays and is a valuable collectible piece for those interested in the Kennedy family. Written in English and originating from the United States of America, this original work offers family and friends rememberences of the oldest sibling of JFK, Joseph P Kennedy Jr. and is a sought-after item for collectors and history enthusiasts alike.Joseph Kennedy died tragically in a mid-air explosion of his Navy bomber during a secret World War II mission called Operation Aphrodite on August 12, 1944. His body was never recovered.This edition is LIKE VG+++. There are no markings on the front and back cover boards and no markings, creases, foldings to any of the pages. it is protected in a perfectly fitting glassine cover that is also virtually flawless. The only items of note are very minor fraying at the top and bottom of the cover relegated mostly on the spine (more-so on the bottom spine than top). and corners of cover. This is from years of shelf ware. I included multiple pictures for you to look for yourself. To the naked eye, it would be hard to find a better edition.(On some of the photos, there are bright white lines evident. These are NOT on the book. It\'s a reflection from the lighting I used. I can try and take better photos of any area you may have a concern about. Obviously, I am an amateur photographer.)There is no dust jacket, as was issued without one, other than the glassine covering mentioned above.
