Known for its exceptional value, the Pro 5 features a unique active/passive line-stage design with a direct bypass switch, a high-quality moving-magnet phono stage, and discrete FET circuitry that delivers a transparent, low-noise audio signal. Condition:This rare preamp is in \"Very Good\" condition withminorsigns of use and a nice, clean front panel!Aside from a few minor scuffs to the lid, the only other thing worth mentioning is justa few light front panel scuffs, mosttoo faint to make out in the pics.All the original knobs & buttons are present and complete as is the attached AC cord.The manual had gone missing and we weren\'t able to find a free download online. So we are including the pictured copy of the similar Pro 10.We are also including two bonus NEW stereo RCA Audio Cables so you are ready to go! All comes in the pictured generic box with custom Styrofoam packing.Please examine all the pictures thoroughlyfor actual condition.Service:On inspection, this unit was on all the time while the switch LED was dark, and had some scratchy or inconsistent controls, so it went to our tech for service.First, the power switch was bad so an exact modern replacement was sourced. It included an incandescent lamp that was very dim, so our tech upgraded it to an LED!Next, several of the rear jacks had bad solder joints, so all of them were re-flowed to assure they didn\'t cause issues in the future.All the pots were cleaned with Specialist Contact Cleaner (proven superior to DeoxIT by our customers), while all switches were treated with the less aggressive DeoxIT F5 to assure no damage to the internal parts.While open, all electrolytic caps were inspected for bulging or leakage and the PC board was inspected with all questionable solder joints re-flowed. It\'s this kind of preventative servicing that makes it smart to buy from a company with an experienced, in-house technician!Testing:Once serviced, we set this up on our test bench and it powered right up with no issues whatsoever.All inputs, outputs, features and controls work as expected producing clear,distortion-freeaudio with no hum or buzz. More testing was done, if there is a particular function you would like to know more about just let us know before buying. What a great find on a top-quality vintagepiece of audio gear!
