This copy is especially attractive for its period fine binding, featuring a rich red/burgundy leather spine and corners over striking hand-marbled paper boards. The spine has raised bands, elaborate gilt floral tooling, decorative gilt compartments, and a contrasting black leather title label reading “Our Constitution — Ewald.” Matching marbled endpapers complete the binding.

Condition: Good antique condition with visible age and use. The leather shows rubbing, scuffing, surface loss, and wear along the spine, raised bands, corners, edges, and joints. The marbled boards show rubbing and areas of surface wear, particularly toward the edges. There is a small area of loss/wear on one raised spine band.
