This is a scarce piece of history minted during the reign of Hadrian in Antioch, Syria between 128 and 129 AD. This is a genuine coin issued under Hadrian, struck in bronze, and in the exact condition you see pictured. This was a pseudo-autonomous minting that is believed by many to commemorate the sighting of the Star of Bethlehem. This coin features a portrait of Tyche on the obverse and a ram leaping, looking back at the star, on the reverse. This coin is guaranteed to be authentic. Grading is subjective. In my opinion, this coin is probably a low VF. The reverse shows very strong details including many of the dots on the ram\'s coat and its eye. The obverse portrait shows some strong and finer details as well.
Hadrian was considered one of the Five Good Emperors that began with the reign of Nerva. He also ruled during the Bar Kochba Revolt. This coin was struck just three years before the revolt.Read more about this great coin below:
