A unique photo album telling about the heroic feat of the liquidators in the first days of the Chernobyl tragedy. The book consists of 2 parts. "Test" Notes of the writer Vladimir Yavorivsky and "Lessons of the disaster" Text and comments to 151 photographs by Andrei Illesh. Each photograph has its own number and a comment is attached to each photograph describing the events captured on it. This is the first photo album about the Chernobyl disaster. Interesting historical feature : On the first pages of the book there is a dedication:Signed by the liquidators of the consequences of the Accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant : " To the respected Vyacheslav Nikolaevich ! From those involved in the events described." Signatures: Includes two original signatures, one being "Baradin" (Барадин).Date: Signed October 19, 1989, just 3 years after the disaster, during the active liquidation and containment period. (See photo 2 .) Identification of Signatures:The book is inscribed to Vyacheslav Nikolaevich (likely a high-ranking engineer at the Chernobyl site). One of the key signatures belongs to G. Baradin (written as "Барадин"), a known participant in the liquidation efforts from the Ministry of Medium Machine Building (the Soviet ministry responsible for the nuclear industry). These signatures represent the brotherhood of the "Liquidators" who stayed behind to stabilize the reactor.
Released in 1988 in the USSR. Unique photographs with commentaries are printed on thick coated paper. High quality photo album. Volume: 270 pages, 151 unique photographs. Format: 17X24 cm. Excellent condition. Minor traces of use may be present. A wonderful gift for collectors and anyone interested in the history of the Chernobyl tragedy.
