Really neat, and hard to find antique 1890s/ the latest 1900s. Palmer Cox papier Machè figure/doll/toy/figure. Most likely German made for the world market. Unfortunately, due to age, his elastic band that connects his legs is missing. There’s a few of the elastics are still attached on the inside of his legs.
This charming fellow’s torso measures 2” 3/8 inches long. The legs measure 2” inches long. His arms measure 1” 1/8 inches. His right leg has been repaired by me. It as a clean break, and the line is pretty unnoticeable.
He does have the obvious paint loss throughout the Brownie. Some on the top hat. Some on his body. Please see the photos for details. His arms are still attached and move just fine. He also has aging stains on his face and body.
The Brownies’s legs can be restrung by a skilled doll repairer. A must have for any Palmer Cox’s Brownies aficionados. Selling as is because of the described condition. Thanks for your interest, free shipping!
