Very nice set of the works of Charles Lamb books for you here. There are 6 volumes here. These are not first edition books. The books were published by A C Armstrong & Son of New York (the 1893 books ). The books were printed by J J Little & Co of New York. These are not first edition books, those were issued in England. Not sure when they were first published in the US or if this is a complete set. I see other sets, not ones of this venue that are 12 volumes.

The 6 books are entitled; The Letters of Charles Lamb, Vol I, The Letters of Charles Lamb Vol II, Tales from Shakespeare, Mrs. Leicester\'s School, The Essays of Elia, Poems Plays and Miscellaneous Essays.

Each book has a beautiful brown calf leather and green, white and blue marbleized hardboard covers. The front and back covers are still securely attached to the rest of the book at the spine. Some wear to the covers at the edges. Some of the spines have some loss or the finish is gone on the spine. The title of the book, author name is noted in gold gilt and impressed into the spine as well. Each book has a illustration at the front of the book. The books have green and blue marbleized pages on all three sides.

No foxing or brown spotting. Some minor soiling in places. The book\'s pages are all intact, no tears, missing pages, or repairs.

The books are still well bound. The hardboard covers are securely attached. No mold, tobacco, or mildewy smell. A musty/dusty smell to them.

Each book is 7.5\" tall, by 5.25\" across, by 1-1/8\" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make anoffer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

We are shipping vintage/antique items that are fragile and requirespecial care.

We also obtain insurance on any item that was bought for $50or more, and require signature on delivery for items that are valued at over$200. Plus we have to pay the 11.75% ofthe final value and shipping fees that charges.

• Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of item where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a 15% fee of the Item Cost, plus 115% of both Shipping Costs should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
