Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, Daytona Beach, Florida was painted in 1895. Walker depicts the tall red lighthouse rising above the low coastal vegetation and associated buildings, viewed across a curving shoreline and calm blue water. Christie\'s records the painting as oil on board, signed and dated 1895, and notes that it is designated for inclusion in the forthcoming William Aiken Walker catalogue raisonné. Walker had longstanding connections with the Mosquito Inlet area and began wintering on the nearby Pacetti property in the 1880s.
