My DVDs are not the quality of todays Modern DVDs or Bluray discs. If you are looking for this kind of quality then these discs are not for you.

To keep my prices as low as possible all my DVDs are delivered in plain paper DVD sleeves and the DVDs title will be labeled on the back of the DVD envelope. This way you can write the contents of the DVD on the DVD yourself if you want to. (See picture).

Plea to buy war bonds. Notable principally for an early (first?) on-screen appearance by Eddie Albert (later star of Our Mr. Sun and Green Acres) as a greasy-faced GI. President Roosevelt also has a brief speaking role, probably one of his last. Very brief shots of dead American soldiers (including a burial at sea) and of New York harbor, wheat being harvested, and workers leaving a factory.

This film was written by the distinguished Librarian of Congress and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Archibald MacLeish. It shows the efforts of the troops in contrast to a civilian\'s idea that the war can\'t last much longer.

This is a fine documentary done in the early days of WWII. Spencer Tracy, who was a veteran of WWI, narrated the film in his usual effective manner. The short was done in February, 1942.

All Out for Victory (1943) B&W Runtime 20 Minutes
Firestone produced this World War II film, in which it shows us all the different kinds of war materials being produced in its plant. It\'s a fascinating historical document, because it shows the diversity of workers hired for war production. Blind workers unravel the ends of parachute straps, a one-armed man operates a one-handed hole-punching machine, deaf workers work in the noisiest part of the factory, elderly men come out of retirement to offer their well-honed skills, and, of course, women are everywhere. It\'s also interesting to see the wide variety of war materials Firestone produced and how they produced them. And it\'s a stirring piece of propaganda, as we are constantly reminded that relatives of these workers who are in the armed services depend in a life-or-death way on the quality of these materials. For instance, one woman\'s son was saved by a lifebelt that she herself had inspected (it had her inspection stamp on it). This is shown to make the workers extra careful about the quality of their work. One of the better industrial incentive films that was made.

Safeguarding Military Information (1941) B&W Runtime 10 Minutes
Safeguarding Military Information is a very good articulation of the \"Loose Ships Sink Ships\" message that the United States Military sought to promote during World War II in an effort to prevent enemy saboteurs from gleaning sensitive information from civilians and military personnel. The imagery used towards the end of the film is quite effective.

Entertaining film about the importance of rubber in wartime. More specifically of course, the use of it for tires that will be used by the US forces transport vehicles. I found this film interesting in it\'s personification of the tire as an active participant in the war, like we were supposed to feel for the tires getting blown apart in wartime. Nice production shots too.

In this excellently acted and melodramatic piece coming from the US Navy of all places. a married couple is separated when the husband goes off to war. As you can tell by the title, consequences ensue. I imagine this film was done by the Navy to warn women that Johnny might not be marching home. This film has a high cinematic feel to it, and all the acting is superb.

They are respectfully presented as outstanding workers with excellent attitudes, who ask no special favors, just the chance to contribute. No camp/humor value here, just a genuinely inspiring little film.
