Here is another interesting early item by Wizard of Oz illustrator W W Denslow. Around 1910, Denslow illustrated a number of colorful advertising booklets for different companies. One of the most fun was this one: “Through Foreign Lands with Sunny Jim” for Force Malted Wheat Flakes Breakfast food. Charming illustrations of Sunny Jim visiting people of all types around the world (including some racial stereotypes typical of the period).
