Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible vintage Art Deco custard uranium glass ceiling light shade, manufactured by the renowned historic American lighting company, Lightolier. I recently uncovered this stunning piece at a local estate sale. It features a classic 1920s stylized peacock feather motif wrapping around the perimeter with an elegant central sunburst design. The shade is crafted from "camphored" custard glass, giving it a semi-translucent, milky cream color that diffuses light beautifully. Because it was manufactured using uranium oxide, it fluoresces a brilliant, vibrant neon green under a UV blacklight— A beautiful addition for any uranium or glass collector.
This listing is for a globe only there is no light fixture. The globe is about 8 inches in diameter at the widest point and 7 inches tall, including the fitter. The fitter measures about 3 3/4” inches ( there are a couple chips on the fitter that I show pictures of ). Other than those it is in good use condition with no cracks or chips. The acid-etched texture is smooth, and the colorful painted peacock accent details remain remarkably clear with minimal historic surface wear.
