This is a Vintage Charles Craft \"Lady Elizabeth\" Cross Stitch Afghan Blank. New Old Stock (remains completely sealed)
This is a classic textured basketweave design, 14 count. This aida cloth afghan comes complete with its original fringed edges and clear finishing instructions, plus a complementary rose design chart tucked inside.(Yarn not included)
The premium Trevira and Viscose synthetic fabric blends gives the blanket a silky soft drape and makes it entirely machine washable without the risk of shrinking.
These were manufactured in 1997 in North Carolina.
Bit of history...
Founded by Charles Buie Jr in Laurinburg North Carolina, Charles Craft Inc grew to become one of the premier domestic giants of the American textile and needle craft industry throughout the late 20th century - During the cross stitch boom of the late 80s and 90s, Charles Craft introduced their E-Z Care Trevira/Viscose blend to crafters as an alternative to traditional stiff cotton blanks. It was a big hit and this specific 1997 run represents the peak era of Charles Crafts domestic US manufacturing before global makrets shited in the 2000.
