1960s pony-hair jacket from premier Texas furrier Koslow’s with leather piping .Founded in Fort Worth in the 1930s, Koslow’s establish itself as one of the premier luxury furriers and specialty outerwear purveyors in Texas. This mid to late 1960s jacket exemplifies mid-century mod tailoring merged with luxury western influence materials, crafted from natural hair on hide with smooth leather piping. The silhouette features classic mod elements, including a curved shirttail split him, covered buttons, and twin chest flaps. Such specialty skin garments were produced in relatively limited numbers due to the high cost of material and craftsmanship required for pelt matching. Today, mid-century hair on hide pieces from regional luxury fur houses remain scarce finds and well preserved, supple condition. There are patches of hair missing throughout which are pictured, along with the measurements. :)
