Authentic late 1950s to early 1960s New York Yankees youth souvenir t-shirt on an original Hanes “Fully Combed” tag.
This piece features a mid-century illustrated Yankees outfielder graphic printed on a soft off-white cotton body with classic single stitch construction throughout. Tag reads 32” Chest – Size 14 with “NYLON REINFORCED NECK – PAT. APPLIED FOR,” a detail Hanes marketed in the late 1950s as a durability innovation for youth playwear. Numeric chest sizing in place of modern S/M/L further dates this garment to the pre-blue bar era (approx. 1958–1964).
Youth MLB tees from this period are notably scarce due to low survival rates — most were worn heavily, handed down, or repurposed over time. Surviving examples with intact graphics and structurally sound collars are increasingly difficult to source.
