Up for sale is a beautiful, mid-to-late 1960s luxury wool overcoat from the legendary British tailoring house Chester Barrie.
This specific coat was custom-made as a premium collaboration for Maurice Anderson’s Men’s Shop, which was famously located inside the historic Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City.
Featuring a timeless single-breasted silhouette in a dense, heavy-weight solid charcoal grey wool, this coat represents the peak of mid-century British craftsmanship. It features Chester Barrie's iconic gold griffin label attached with signature white hand-cross-stitching, alongside the classic Lion and Unicorn "Made in England" inner tag.
Condition Details: Overall in very good, sturdy, and wearable vintage condition with no exterior staining. There are approximately 6 small moth holes (each 1/8" or smaller in diameter).
Two of these holes are grouped closely together at the bottom of the coat and have already been neatly patched and stabilized.
You will see the others upon close inspection, but they are not very noticeable. The interior lining is in very good condition throughout the body, but has a previous repair around the inside neck/collar area and currently requires a small amount of restitching again.
