This eye-catching specimen features an incredible variety of ancient, prehistoric shark teeth (including distinctive Sand Tiger and Requiem shark specimens) frozen in time. The teeth are 100% authentic fossils, showcasing the classic deep charcoal, jet black, and soft grey tones created by millions of years of natural mineral replacement (permineralization).
Dating back to 1952, this block represents the very beginning of the post-WWII cold-cure plastic casting craze. The clear resin has developed a gorgeous, natural amber/yellowed patina along the edges over the last 70+ years—a characteristic highly sought after by collectors of early plastics and mid-century oddities. It is solid, smooth, and makes a fantastic conversation piece for any office desk, bookshelf, or curiosity cabinet.
