Rare vintage American Field Sportswear hunting/game coat, manufactured by The Hettrick Mfg. Co., Toledo, Ohio. Believed to date from approximately the 1940s–1950s.

Outstanding bright red heavy canvas/duck construction with contrasting brown corduroy collar. This is a purpose-built hunting coat featuring four large exterior utility pockets and a permanently attached internal game bag with four original metal retaining/support clips.

The original woven label reads:

“Guaranteed American Field Sportswear – Product of The Hettrick Mfg. Co. – Toledo, Ohio.”

This is an especially attractive example of early American hunting/workwear, and the red color appears considerably less common than the traditional tan/brown American Field coats.
