The USS Leahy was commissioned in 1962 as DLG-16 and retained that designation until being reclassified as CG-16 in 1975, placing this lighter\'s ship design within the Vietnam/Cold War era. Naval History and Heritage Command
Front features the USS Leahy crest with crossed weapons, motto “Prompta Et Parata”, ship illustration, and “U.S.S. Leahy DLG 16” lettering. Bottom carries the classic Zippo Bradford, PA marking.
Lighter shows considerable age and use. Exterior has scratches, scuffs, finish wear and paint loss. Interior insert shows oxidation/corrosion and residue consistent with long-term storage.
