Vintage Hopi Native American Sterling Silver Overlay Bolo Tie featuring a highly stylized bird design.
Beautiful vintage Hopi silverwork with a bold, graphic bird motif created using traditional silver overlay construction. The raised sterling silver design contrasts against the darkened and textured recessed background, giving the piece the distinctive look associated with vintage Hopi overlay jewelry.
The reverse is stamped STERLING and features a small pictorial hallmark. I have not been able to positively identify the individual silversmith, so I am leaving the maker unidentified rather than making an uncertain attribution.
The bolo has a vintage braided leather cord with sterling silver tips.
Condition: Original vintage condition. This bolo has not been cleaned, polished, or restored, and retains its natural age-related patina. There are also some small surface scratches and signs of previous wear consistent with its age and use. I have intentionally left the silver in its original condition rather than removing the natural patina. Please see all photos closely for condition and detail.
