RARE VINTAGE WEDGWOOD BARLASTON TAURUS THE BULL – ARNOLD MACHIN – ZODIAC
Offered is a beautiful and exceptionally well-preserved Wedgwood Barlaston Taurus the Bull figurine, designed by renowned Wedgwood sculptor Arnold Machin and decorated with the distinctive Zodiac imagery associated with Eric Ravilious.
This is the large, highly collectible mid-century Wedgwood Taurus sculpture, measuring approximately 16 inches long.
The cream/ivory glazed body is decorated with colorful printed Zodiac figures, stars and symbols, including the various signs of the Zodiac. The bull also features the distinctive stylized black markings across the head and back.
Condition
Excellent / Pristine vintage condition.
This example is exceptionally clean and well preserved for its age. The glossy glaze is beautiful and the colorful Zodiac decoration remains remarkably bright.
No chips, cracks or repairs are apparent. The legs, horns, tail and other sculptural details appear intact. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description.
There may be very minor manufacturing characteristics or age-related variations consistent with a vintage Wedgwood piece.
