Up for grabs today is a classic piece of mid-century Swiss engineering: a vintage 1960s Waltham 17 Jewels Shockresistant mechanical wristwatch. This little beauty features a wonderfully aged dial, sharp indices, and a highly collectible Swiss-made mechanical movement underneath.
Now, let's talk about the goat in the room. This watch has suffered a bit of a mishap out in the field. It is missing half of its winding stem and the crown. Yes, someone bit the tip right off, probably thinking it was a delicious piece of sweet clover.
BUT HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS:
The heart of this beast still beats! We rolled up our sleeves, grabbed a pair of microscopic needle-nose pliers, carefully gripped what remains of the inner stem, and gave it a wind. It fired right up and started ticking beautifully. The balance wheel moves like a startled billy goat, but to make it fully wearable and adjustable again, it needs a new crown and stem installed by someone who knows what they're doing.

Condition: For Parts or Repair. The movement runs when manually wound with pliers, but the watch is missing the external crown and partial winding stem. The crystal shows heavy crazing/scratches, and the case has natural vintage wear and tarnish.
