1993 TIGER ELECTRONICS THE BERENSTAIN BEARS 72-525 — THE HOLY GRAIL OF TIGER GAMES?
After nearly 50 years of collecting, buying and selling vintage electronic games, I believed I had seen almost everything—until this surfaced. This is the 1993 Tiger Electronics “The Berenstain Bears” handheld game, model 72-525, featuring Brother and Sister Bear on a fishing adventure. The title appears in archived Tiger game records, yet virtually no photographs, advertisements, packaging or confirmed sales can be found. Some collectors believe it may be a prototype or an unreleased title. While its exact history cannot be confirmed, it was clearly produced in extraordinarily small numbers, received almost no distribution, or possibly never reached conventional retail stores.
This incredible discovery came from the largest collection of vintage Tiger handhelds I have encountered in five decades—more than 200 games carefully preserved by an adult collector in a nonsmoking home. The game is complete with its battery cover and has been tested before listing. The photographs show the exact game and its remarkable condition. For the serious Tiger Electronics collector, this may be the Holy Grail of Tiger handheld games. I cannot locate another example currently available or a documented sale establishing its value. When an item is this rare, conventional price guides become meaningless. It may be impossible to replace—and to the right collector, it could be virtually priceless.
This is not simply another rare Tiger game. It may be one of the most elusive Tiger Electronics handhelds ever discovered and could become the centerpiece of even the most advanced collection. I will consider serious offers, but I am in no hurry to sell it. If you recognize what you are looking at, you already understand why another opportunity may never come.
