Makers Sterling Jockey Ring Dish - Louis Wolfson EstateThis vintage Tiffany & Co. sterling silver dish featuring a detailed three-dimensional standing jockey holding a saddle came out of the estate of Louis Wolfson. Wolfson was a financier, convicted felon, corporate raider and owner/breeder of 1978 American Triple Crown winner, Affirmed. Many of his horse racing trophies, paintings, and other personal items were cleaned out of his estate by a friend of mine. I was fortunate enough to purchase a group of items including this piece. It is in good condition overall with light scratches and light wear on mostly on the bottom. It measures about 2 5/8"H 3 1/8"W and weighs 64.5 grams. This is an excellent piece for a Tiffany collector, equestrian collector or horse racing collector!
