Vintage Barbados Flying Fish Preserved Specimen - Framed Shadowbox Display
Unusual vintage natural-history / travel souvenir featuring a real preserved flying fish displayed with its large wing-like fins spread inside a deep framed case.
The handwritten backing provides excellent period provenance and reads: \"Purchased February 25, 1971 - Bridgetown, Barbados - Caribbean Cruise.\" February 25, 1971 was a Thursday, consistent with the handwritten notation on the piece.
The display is also hand-labeled \"BARBADOS\" and \"FLYING FISH\" on the interior backing.
