Beautiful vintage Sydenstricker fused art glass floral plate, handcrafted on Cape Cod and featuring a striking botanical design of large blue flowers with sunny yellow centers and green stems and foliage.The floral design is created using Sydenstricker’s distinctive fused-glass technique, in which powdered colored glass is applied through hand-cut stencils and then enclosed between layers of clear glass before being kiln-fired. This process gives the flowers wonderful depth while preserving the design within the glass. Sydenstricker has been producing its handcrafted fused glass since 1968. Numerous tiny bubbles and natural variations can be seen throughout the glass. These are characteristic of the handmade fused-glass process and add to the individuality of the piece.The plate is etched/signed Sydenstricker along the edge, confirming the maker.Condition: Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. Small bubbles, texture and variations within the glass are consistent with its handcrafted production.
