Vintage Shimano Sante RD-5001 rear derailleur for 7-speed road and racing bicycles.
Short cage, bolt-on mounting design for frames with a standard rear derailleur hanger. Aluminum alloy body with silver painted finish and matching silver cage, with Sante script logos on the outer linkage.
Back side of the body is stamped RD-5001 and SHIMANO JAPAN as shown in the close-up photos. Outer cage plate is marked MA and molded text is visible on the lower pulley.

Suitable for restoring or maintaining vintage Shimano Sante-equipped road bikes or other 7-speed Shimano SIS road drivetrains. Includes only the complete rear derailleur assembly shown; no cable, housing, chain, shifter, or additional hardware is included.
Used vintage Shimano Sante RD-5001 rear derailleur with heavy cosmetic wear from age and road use. Silver finish is chipped and scratched across the body, especially near the front link pivots, cage edges, and mounting areas, with finish dulling and oxidation on exposed steel hardware. Pulleys and cage interior are coated in grease and road dirt, and pulley teeth show chain wear. Mounting bolt, limit screws, and cable clamp bolt have wrench marks and surface corrosion. Mechanicals are untested on a bicycle; cleaning, lubrication, and full adjustment are recommended before installation. Includes only the derailleur shown; no additional parts or accessories are included.
