Condition Details (Please review photos carefully):• Front: The glass is fully intact with no cracks. The distinctive, ornately carved wooden frame is in sturdy structural condition with a great period look. There is a small exposed vintage brad/nail head on the left side of the frame molding (visible in close-up photos), which is a common quirk of old-school frame assembly.• Back: The paper dust cover on the back has an authentic vintage patina with a prominent, dark ring-shaped water stain on the upper-left section and some natural tearing around the edges.• The Print: Despite the historic moisture stain on the backing paper, the front face of the print is completely unaffected. The colors, illumination details, and typography remain clean, vibrant, and fully legible.
Production Technique & Artistry:This piece is a stunning example of an early 20th-century illuminated printed multiple from the studio of Alan Lansdown Tabor (1883–1957). Trained in the rigorous Arts & Crafts tradition, Tabor first meticulously hand-rendered the calligraphy and medieval-style borders. The composition was then reproduced using fine-art lithography. To capture the radiant, metallic quality of true medieval manuscripts, the studio hand-tinted and finished the bold initial \"IF\" capitals with gold metallic inks over the lithographic base.
