Up for sale is a rare, highly desirable vintage 7’6” Phillipson-built \"Haywood Zephyr\" split-bamboo fly rod.While marked with the \"Haywood Zephyr\" trade name (produced for Whitney’s Sporting Goods in Denver, Colorado), this cane rod was meticulously built by the legendary Phillipson Rod Company. Bill Phillipson\'s shop was famous for producing some of the finest, crispest-casting production tapers of the vintage bamboo era.At 7 feet 6 inches, this is a highly sought-after, shorter light-line configuration that is incredibly rare compared to the common 8’6” or 9’0” production models. It is an amazing casting tool that performs beautifully on small-to-medium trout streams with a modern 4-weight or 5-weight double taper line.Specifications & Condition Details:Length & Configuration: 2-Piece, 1-Tip configuration.Section Lengths: Both the butt and tip sections are exactly equal in length (full factory length, never broken or shortened at the tip).Markings: The script \"Haywood Zephyr\" is beautifully preserved above the cork grip. The opposite flat is stamped with the factory batch code \"29 7-1/2\".Hardware & Wraps: Features the classic Phillipson oval/elliptical cork grip, original internal metal ferrules, and signature gold/amber wraps with black tipping.
