Here’s an uber rare one for any Kuwahara enthusiasts. Looks to be all original but the tires and the grips had basically oozed off the bars from age deterioration and will need replaced. The bike is as found and needs total cleaning/restoration. I no longer alter original “complete” Bmx bikes due to the increasing demand from collectors across the board wanting them left of all original and untouched which I completely understand, the purists like them pure and it’s the only way to truly know what was original to the bike and not something someone put together. PLEASE NOTE-The bike will be disassembled as much as needed for shipping.
There is all the typical age related imperfections for a 40 plus year old original bike such as aged & checking/fraying decals, scrapes scratches throughout, also patina scattered on the chrome and metal hardware, but I do not see any major structural issues. PLEASE NOTE- There is a deeper weld on the fork where the steer tube meets the left side curved portion that has a ridge effect, there isn’t a crack/damage just a factory weld that was a little deeper than usual, please inspect photos, more photos upon request if needed.
There’s a good bit of dust/dirt around the dropout areas and hubs but the paint underneath I think will clean up pretty nice, the chrome will probably look nice as well with someone who knows what they are doing with chrome restoration.
Please ask lots of questions if needed and request more photos if needed prior to purchase. Zoom on all images and know what your buying, the bike is sold as you see it as is no returns, let me know if you need more info and I will try and answer as best as possible. These were only made for about a year and a half I believe, the bike definitely falls into the “hens teeth” category :)
NOTE- The down tube is an oval type shape.
