This is a vintage sterling silver belt buckle and tooled leather belt. This southwestern Native American belt buckle was acquired in Arizona in 1986, by my father. It was handcrafted by the Navajo Silversmith, Louis Hogan Begay. The inside is signed with the letters, LB and a center pictograph between the initials is a stylized Thunderbird/Eagle stamp.
The buckle design is arrows throughout and two feathers accenting a center gemstone, a polished turquoise and bezel set stone. It is 3 1/2 inches in length. The accompanying leather tool belt is 39 inches in length and 2 inches wide. The back center is flanked by two eagles and blank for your name to be tooled in, if desired.
I hesitate to put the gram weight because of it being attached to the leather belt. I can’t get an accurate reading.
