Great vintage lot of four original heavy metal magazines with a strong Metallica focus, including two 1988 issues and two colorful Move Mirror special publications packed with band photos, pinups, features, and classic late-\'80s metal imagery. Metallica appears prominently throughout the lot, including multiple covers, feature stories, group photographs, and individual band-member pinups.
1. Hit Parader – December 1988: Metallica cover issue featuring the headline \"Metallica – No Guts, No Glory\". Also features Guns N\' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Cinderella, Poison, Ratt, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Stryper, Ace Frehley, Iron Maiden and others. The original Aerosmith centerfold is present, and all pages appear to be present. Back cover features a Bon Jovi New Jersey advertisement.
2. Move Mirror – Hot Metal Centerfolds!: Color special packed with oversized pinups and foldouts. Metallica is prominently featured, along with Nikki Sixx, Guns N\' Roses, Skid Row, Warrant, Poison, Ozzy Osbourne, Bon Jovi, Sepultura, Queensr che and many others. The contents identify multiple Metallica-related double-sized pinups, including Metallica, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. All foldouts and advertised pinups appear to be present.
3. Move Mirror – 50 Metal Pix!: Color heavy-metal special featuring Metallica prominently on the cover and inside. Includes Metallica group material and additional band photography, along with Poison, Guns N\' Roses, Def Leppard, Winger, Kiss, Megadeth, Skid Row, Mötley Crüe, Britny Fox, Stryper, Whitesnake, Warrant, Queensr che, Vixen, Ratt, Lita Ford, Faster Pussycat, Cinderella, Ozzy Osbourne, Suicidal Tendencies and others. This issue is complete.
4. RIP – November 1988: Metallica cover featuring Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield with the headline \"Metallica Gets Respect ... Finally!\" and an exclusive Metallica story and photos. Also features Sodom, Stryper, John Norum, Flotsam & Jetsam, Slayer, Ratt and Guns N\' Roses. Back cover advertises Extreme\'s debut album. This issue is complete and did not originally include centerfolds or posters.
The magazines are in good to very good vintage condition overall with normal age-related handling, edge, corner and surface wear. No major condition problems were noted during review. The poster- and pinup-oriented issues retain their original material as described above, which is increasingly important with vintage music magazines since many surviving copies have had posters or centerfolds removed.
