Vintage Marsala 925 Sterling Silver Double-Sided Engraved Oval Locket Necklace
A lovely vintage sterling silver keepsake necklace featuring a small oval photo locket by Marsala Manufacturing Co. The locket is marked 925 with Marsala’s distinctive stylized M/swirl maker’s mark.
Both exterior sides of the locket are beautifully engraved with a flowing floral and foliate design surrounded by a delicate dotted border. Because the engraving appears on both sides, the locket remains decorative even if it turns while being worn.
The hinged locket opens to reveal two recessed oval compartments for photographs or other tiny keepsakes. It closes with a small side catch.
The locket is paired with a slender approximately 18-inch sterling silver snake chain. The chain is marked 925 ITALY and has a lobster-claw clasp.
