Vintage Madame Alexander 11\" Meg Doll – Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women
Vintage 11-inch Madame Alexander “Meg” doll from the Little Women collection, based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel.
The doll retains her original sewn-in identification tag reading “Louisa M. Alcott’s Little Women – MEG – By Madame Alexander, N.Y.C. U.S.A.”
She features brown/auburn styled hair with bow, blue sleep eyes that open when upright and close when laid down, and a detailed period-style outfit. Clothing includes the striped dress, white lace-trimmed apron, undergarments/stockings and black shoes as pictured.
Condition: This is a vintage, pre-owned doll being sold in as-found condition. The doll displays nicely overall, but the clothing needs TLC. The white apron and portions of the clothing have noticeable age-related yellowing, staining/discoloration, wrinkles and general wear. Hair has some loose/flyaway strands from age.
I have not attempted to clean or restore the doll or clothing, so the new owner can choose the appropriate restoration method.
The doll itself does not appear to have any readily visible manufacturer/model markings on the head or body. Identification as Meg by Madame Alexander is based on the original sewn-in Little Women/Meg identification tag. Because Madame Alexander produced multiple versions of Meg, I am not assigning a specific model number or production year.
No original box or paperwork included.
