HUMMEL CHICKEN-LICKEN #385 shows a young girl tending to her chicks, holding a basket full of baby chickens while another chick perches on a fence beside her. The scene captures SISTER HUMMEL\'S classic themes of farm life, innocence, and gentle responsibility. Originally sculpted by master sculptor GERHARD SKROBEK in 1967, it is a TMK‑6, circa 1979-1990 version, produced in WEST GERMANY during GOEBEL\'S® late‑classic production era. TMK‑6 pieces are known for their bright, clean color palette, sharp detailing, and smooth glaze reflecting GOEBEL\'S® improved production quality in the 1980\'s. CHICKEN-LICKEN is popular among collectors who enjoy farm‑themed HUMMELS and playful titles. Feel free to email any questions before offerding.♦ ABOUT THE CHICKEN-LICKEN TITLE ♦GOEBEL® chose the name CHICKEN-LICKEN as a playful reference to the old EUROPEAN folktale CHICKEN LITTLE, who is also known as HENNY PENNY. In the story, a CHICK believes THE SKY IS FALLING, and the name CHICKEN-LICKEN was one of the traditional character names in early GERMAN and ENGLISH versions of the tale. The figurine does not depict the story, but GOEBEL® often used whimsical, childlike names that tied into familiar nursery tales. So the name is simply meant to be cute farm‑themed and child‑friendly, recognizable to buyers. Basically it’s a marketing name and not a literal depiction of the CHICKEN LITTLE story.♦ ABOUT M.I.
