Up for sale is a wonderful piece of antique firearms and handloading history: an authentic, vintage Lyman Ideal \"One Dipper\" bullet casting ladle, complete with its original orange cardboard box and its original printed instructional manual.
Manufactured by The Lyman Gun Sight Corporation (Successors to Ideal Manufacturing Co.) out of Middlefield, Connecticut, this tool was a staple for bullet casters throughout the early-to-mid 20th century.

The Ideal One Dipper: A heavy cast-iron lead pouring ladle featuring the classic signature side-pouring spout designed for cleanly filling bullet molds. Features its original turned wooden handle. The cast metal head is clearly stamped with the classic \"IDEAL\" logo emblem.
The Original Box: A fantastic early orange-and-yellow cardboard two-piece slider box labeled \"RELOADING IDEAL TOOLS ONE DIPPER\". The box features great vintage typography and logos.
The Original Paperwork: A beautifully preserved, large fold-out instruction manual titled \"HOW TO CAST BULLETS\" by the Lyman Gun Sight Corp. This pamphlet features extensive diagrams, historic tips, and step-by-step casting instructions from the era.
Condition Details:
Dipper: The cast iron head shows expected cosmetic darkening/oxidation from heat and age but remains completely structural with no cracks or damage. The wooden handle is tight and solid.
Box: In excellent vintage shape for its age. The colors remain bright. There is some minor edge wear, light scuffing, and minimal tearing typical of a cardboard piece of this era, but it displays beautifully.
Manual: Completely intact, crisp, and fully legible with typical vintage paper yellowing.
