Absolutely gorgeous vintage German porcelain cup and matching saucer featuring a rich burgundy/red ground, elaborate gold decoration, gilded rim, unusual three-footed base and highly distinctive openwork gold handle.
The underside bears the Crown D / Germany mark associated with Karl-Heinz Klette, known for producing beautifully decorated porcelain in the Dresden style.
This is an especially eye-catching piece for a collector of Klette porcelain, Dresden-style china, German porcelain, demitasse cups or decorative cabinet cups.
The combination of the deep red color, extensive gilding and unusual footed design makes this a particularly striking piece.
