Beautiful estate sale find this is a Japanese would block print in excellent condition.
This print is a famous masterwork titled "The Actor Osagawa Tsuneyo II as Osan" (also known as Ippei's Sister Osan) by the legendary artist Toshusai Sharaku. It portrays a male onnagata actor playing a female role in a 1794 Kabuki play
While it isn't an 18th-century museum original, it remains a lovely woodblock or high-quality lithographic art reproduction of one of the rarest designs in Japanese art history.
