Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage Japanese indigo-dyed (Aizome) cotton textile panel. This piece features stunning, hand-drawn Tsutsugaki (paste-resist) artistry depicting large, blooming peony flowers, traditional bamboo stalks, and a central circular family crest (Mon).
Size: Measures approximately 44 inches long by 37 inches wide.
Finishes: The top and bottom edges are neatly hemmed. The left and right vertical edges are raw, cleanly salvaged from its original deconstruction as a multi-panel Japanese bedding cover (kakebuton).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The fabric retains a wonderful weight and rich indigo depth. The raw vertical edges are exceptionally stable and in very good condition with minimal fraying. No major stains, holes, or unraveled structural issues.This highly striking panel is structurally sound and perfectly composed to be mounted as a stunning boho wall hanging, framed textile art, or used as premium material for high-end Boro patchwork and quilting projects.
