The box label identifies the design as:
秀衡 — 鉄線花
Hidehira — Tessenka
“Tessenka” refers to the iron-wire flower/clematis motif
These striking rectangular plates feature a highly glossyblack lacquer groundwith traditionalred, gold and floral decoration. Each plate is decorated with a graceful gold flower and red foliage, with stylized red cloud-like forms and geometric gold accents at the lower corner.
The combination of black, vermilion red and gold gives these pieces a particularly elegant traditional Japanese appearance.
